Hadiya Development and Rehabilitation Network (HDRN) was established in 2005 and is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, to provide services and financial resources to the most disadvantaged individuals and families among Hadiya Zone residents in Southern Ethiopia. To this end, the Organization shall at all times be operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States 1986.

HDRN will work with other non-profit urban and rural community-based development organizations, public schools, clinics and hospitals, and small business development projects dedicated to improving quality of life within the zone’s economically distressed communities. Rehabilitation efforts will include, but not limited to:

  • Environmental Rehabilitation
  • Education
  • Health
  • Road Construction and Accessibility
  • Rehabilitation of Cultural Values
  1. Educating and Training people on issues pertaining to:
    - Health
    - Environment
    - Positive Cultural Values
    - Adult Literacy
  2. Assist health care institutions, schools and public libraries.
  3. Providing funds for food and shelter to the very poor as a short-term solution and appropriate assistance to make them self-sufficient in the long run.
  4. Making scholarship awards available to academically outstanding needy students.
  5. Rehabilitate and protect the environment (forestation, soil conservation and wild-life)
  6. Encouraging research and development in history, culture, and environment of the locality
  7. Drilling wells and developing streams and rivers
